Video of Vinod Kambli dancing in hospital goes viral

Kambli is undergoing treatment at Aakriti Hospital

A video of former Indian cricketer Vinod Kambli dancing in the hospital is viral. Kambli is undergoing treatment at Aakriti Hospital in Thane district since December 21.

He has suffered brain clotting. Dr. Vivek Trivedi, who was treating him, had said that Kambli had initially complained of urine infection and cramps. Doctors treating Kambli said on Monday that his health was improving. In the video that went viral from the hospital, Kambli is dancing on the song Chak De India. During this, a nurse is also seen dancing with him.

Kambli was seen at coach Achrekar’s function on 4th December. In this function he held Sachin’s hand tightly. Then the anchor comes and convinces Kambli to leave his hand. The disappointment was visible on Kambli’s face.

Kambli’s career: Scored 1084 runs in 17 test matches

Kambli made his ODI debut in 1991 and his Test debut in 1993. He was the fastest batsman to score 1000 Test runs in 14 innings. Scored a total of 1084 runs in 17 test matches for the Indian team. These include 4 centuries and 3 half-centuries. Scored a total of 2477 runs in 104 ODI matches, which included 2 centuries and 14 half-centuries. His performance in the 2000s was very poor and due to this he was dropped from Team India. He played his last ODI match for Team India in the year 2000 against Sri Lanka.

When we cried on the field

Kambli was in the World Cup semi-final match between India and Sri Lanka on 13 March 1996 at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata. Sri Lanka had scored 251 runs. In reply, the Indian team was in a good position at one time losing one wicket for 98 runs, but after Sachin’s dismissal, the team’s batting order collapsed. Team India had lost 8 wickets for 120 runs.

It was the 35th over and the Indian team needed 132 from 156 balls. Vinod Kambli 10 and Anil Kumble were present at the crease. After this the spectators started throwing bottles on the field. A part of the stadium was set on fire. The match was stopped and Sri Lanka was declared the winner. Then while returning from the field, Kambli started crying.

Kambli married twice

Kambli married twice. First marriage was with Noela and second marriage was with fashion model Andrea Hewitt. In June 2010, Andrea gave birth to Kambli’s son Jesus Cristiano. After retiring from cricket in 2000, Kambli also turned to films. In 2002, the film ‘Anarth’ starring Sanjay Dutt, Sunil Shetty and Preeti Jhangiani was released. This film, directed by Ravi Dewan, flopped badly. In 2009, Kambli again did a film named Pal Pal Dil Ke Saath. The film, directed by VK Kumar, featured Kambli’s former cricketer friends Ajay Jadeja and Mahie Gill, but this film also could not win the hearts of the audience.
