Cricket Australia has honoured Jasprit Bumrah and Nitish Reddy despite the big loss in the Melbourne Test. The names of Bumrah and Nitish are written in the honour board of the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

The BCCI on Tuesday released a video of Bumrah and Reddy’s names being written on the honour board. In the 48-second video, 21-year-old Nitish Reddy was seen looking at his name on the honour board and taking a picture of it. The names of Sunil Gavaskar, Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli are on this board. Kapil Dev and Anil Kumble are on the board’s list of bowlers.

Bumrah took a total of 9 wickets in both innings of the Melbourne Test. Nitish Reddy saved India from the follow-on by scoring a century of 114 runs in the first innings. In this match, India had to face a crushing defeat against Australia by 184 runs. After this defeat, the Indian team is 1-2 behind in the 5-match series.

What is ‘Honours Board’?

Players with memorable performances on any field are included in the Honours Board, so that their performance can be remembered for a long time. Generally, batsmen who score centuries on the field and bowlers who take 5 wickets or 10 wickets in an innings get a place in it.

Nitish Reddy is the 11th Indian batsman to feature on the MCG Honojrs Board, while Bumrah is the sixth bowler.

Reddy made his debut in the Perth Test

Young all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy made his debut in the first Test of this series played in Perth. The Melbourne Test was the fourth match of his career. He has scored 294 runs at an average of 49 in the series. Nitish dedicated his career century to his father Mutlya Reddy.

Bumrah took 30 wickets in the series

Jasprit Bumrah took 5 wickets while bowling 24.4 overs in the second innings of the fourth match played in Melbourne. He bowled with an economy of 2.31. Bumrah took 4 wickets in the first innings. He has bowled at an economy rate of 2.76 and taken 203 wickets in his 44 Test career. Has taken more than 5 wickets in an innings 13 times.
