Only 25 minutes had been played when the match was stopped due to water dripping from the roof. Prannoy was then leading 21-12, 6-3. When the match was called off after 2.45 hours 45 minutes, it resumed but again was abandoned due to water dripping. Then only 5 minutes of play took place. Brian Yang led 11-9 in the second game.

A towel is used to dry the water The organizers used towels to dry the water from the court. Employees were drying the water with towels. In such a situation, it took about 3 hours to get the court ready for play again.
