Team India announced for Champions Trophy today: Shami likely to return, Bumrah-Kuldeep selection will depend on fitness

The Indian squad for the Champions Trophy will be announced today. Chief selector Ajit Agarkar and captain Rohit Sharma will announce the squad at 12:30 pm at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Mohammad Shami may return to the Indian squad, while the selection of Jasprit Bumrah and Kuldeep Yadav will depend on fitness.

BCCI was awaiting the fitness report of fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah. He suffered back pain during the Sydney Test on the tour of Australia. Apart from Bumrah, Mohammed Shami is returning from injury. Whereas, Kuldeep Yadav had recently undergone surgery.

The Champions Trophy is scheduled to be held from February 19 to March 9 across 4 cities in Pakistan and UAE. It includes Lahore, Karachi, Rawalpindi and Dubai. All the matches of the Indian team will be played in Dubai.

India will play their first match against Bangladesh The Indian team will play their first match against Bangladesh in the Champions Trophy. The match will be played on February 20 at the Dubai International Stadium. The team's second match will be against Pakistan on February 23 and the third match against New Zealand on March 2.

India have been placed in Group A along with Pakistan, Bangladesh and New Zealand. The 2 semi-finals of the tournament will be held on March 4 and 5. While the final will be played on March 9.

Selection of 11 players for ODI World Cup decided It is certain that the 11 players who will play in the 2023 ODI World Cup will be selected in the Indian squad. It includes names like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and KL Rahul. Also, Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan, Shardul Thakur and Ravichandran Ashwin may be out of the squad. Ashwin has retired.

Shardul was not selected in the team after Gautam Gambhir became the coach. On the other hand, Surya and Ishaan have been cut from the ODI squad due to poor form and behaviour. In such a situation, the team management will have to find replacements for these players.

Rohit Sharma (Captain), Shubman Gill, Yashshwi Jaiswal, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul, Sanju Samson (wicketkeeper), Hardik Pandya (wicketkeeper), Ravindra Jadeja, Akshar Patel, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Kuldeep Yadav, Jaspreet Birah, Mohammad Siraj and Mohammad Shami.
