Iga Swietek reaches Australian Open semi-finals: Defeats Navarro of America in straight sets, will face Keys on January 23

Five-time Grand Slam champion Iga Switek cruised into the Australian Open women's singles semi-finals with a comfortable win over American Emma Navarro. Another American tennis player Madison Keys has also reached the semifinals of the women's singles tournament.

Women's singles semi-finalists have been decided. The first semi-final will be played between World No.1 Aryana Sabalenka and Spain's Paula Badosa. While the second match will be played between Switek and Keys.

Switech A Scored an easy victory over Navarro Switek recorded an easy victory over Navarro in the quarter-final match. He won the first set 6-1 and the second 6-2. Switech will face Keys in the semi-finals tomorrow, January 23.

Keys defeated Svitolina American Madison Keys bounced back after falling behind on Wednesday to win. Keys lost the first set to 28th-ranked Elina Svitolina of Ukraine 3–6. He then made a comeback and won the second set 6–3 and the third 6–4.

Novak Djokovic reached the semifinals 24-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic of Serbia made it to the semifinals of the Australian Open 2025 on Tuesday. Olympic tennis champion Djokovic defeated third seed Carlos Alcarez of Spain in a four-set match in men's singles. On the other hand, Germany's Alexander Zverev also won in the quarter-finals at the Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne.

Alcarez, 21, won the first set against Djokovic 6-4. Djokovic made a comeback and won the second set by a 6-4 margin. Djokovic maintained his dominance and won the last two sets 6-3, 6-4 to clinch the match.

Zverev dominated and won the match Germany's Alexander Zverev, seeded second, won the quarterfinals against American Tommy Paul. Zverev struggled to win the first two sets, but won both sets by 7–6, 7–6 margins. Paul made a comeback and won the third set 6-2.

Zverev then made a comeback and won the match by winning the fourth set by a 6–1 margin. The Australian Open is a best-of-5 men's singles event. The player who wins the first 3 sets is the winner.

4 Grand Slams in Tennis There are 4 Grand Slams in tennis, all four are played every year. It will start with the Australian Open in January. The French Open is played in May, followed by Wimbledon in July in London, England. The US Open is held in September, the last Grand Slam of the year. All four have different historical beliefs. Wimbledon is the oldest Grand Slam tournament, having started in 1877.
