Firms canceled football matches in Bangladesh: Said- Girls playing football are irregular, vandalized in the field; Another matter in two days

A women's football match was canceled in Bangladesh on Wednesday following the Islamic fundamental protests. This is the second event in recent times.

During the ongoing friendly women football match between Joypurhat and Rangpur district teams, students and teachers of Islamic school reached and vandalized. After which the match was canceled.

A female football match in north-west Bangladesh was canceled after locals vandalized the spot.

Tournament organizer Sameul Hassan Amnon told the news agency AFP-

Hundreds of Islamists from our area came to the field at the time of the match and started vandalism. We had to cancel the match after seeing the situation worsening.

The football match had to be canceled on Tuesday This is the second case of protest against women football in recent days. Earlier on Tuesday, Islamists canceled the women's match using sticks during a football match in Dinajpur city. According to Moniruzman Jia, a teacher present there, the authorities had to take the players out of the field while watching the security.

During the Dinajpur protests, a battle broke out between Islamic opponents and fans present in the match, with both groups throwing bricks at each other. Local officer Amit Roy said four people were injured in the incident, though all had been discharged from the hospital.

The picture is on Tuesday 29th January. In Dinajpur city, Islamists entered the field and vandalized.

Women's football is non-Islamic: religious fundamentalist Abu Bakkar Siddiqui, head of Madrassa, who is opposed to female football, said-

Girls football is non-Islamic. It is our religious duty to stop whatever is against our faith.

Women have the right to participate in football: BFF Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) has condemned the incident. “Football is for everyone and women have the right to participate in it,” BFF media manager, Shakib, said in a statement.

These incidents are constantly coming after former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was removed from power last year. This shows that Islamic groups have increased in Bangladesh.
