LSG owner bought 70% stake in Manchester Originals: IPL franchise announcement; Goenka said- we believe in superiority

Kolkata: The RPSG Group, owned by the IPL franchise Lucknow Super Giants, has bought 70% of the Hundred team Manchester Originals from Lancashire Cricket Club in England. Lancashire is a company owned by Manchester Originals.

The RPSG group officially announced the deal on Friday. Accordingly, England’s Lancashire Cricket Club will have a 30% stake in the team. Group Chairman Sanjeev Goenka said: ‘We honor Lancashire’s inheritance. We are committed to building a special relationship with our players, support teams and community. We believe in excellence. We see immense potential for quality cricket for the next generations. ‘

Lancashire said in a statement on February 4 that-

We were looking for the best spouse. RPSG Group has been our favorite bidder for some time. We are very happy with this result. We are excited to create a great future together. Our joint goal is to create a special cricket team for Manchester and people in the northwest.

Rishabh Pant made a new captain RPSG Chairman Sanjeev Goenka appointed Rishabh Pant as captain of the IPL franchise Lucknow Super Giants on January 20 last month. In the Mega Auction of November 2024, the franchise bought Pant for INR 27 million (about $ 3.21 million). With this, Pant became the most expensive IPL player.

LSG owner Sanjeev Goenka along with former Indian cricketer Zaheer Khan gave a jersey gift to Rishabh Pant in Kolkata.
