Parameter-1: Title

2-2 titles near India and Australia

India and Australia have won the highest titles in the Champions Trophy. Both teams have become champions 2-2 times.

  • The Indian team won the second title by beating England by 5 runs under MS Dhoni's captaincy in 2013. Prior to this, the team became a joint winner with Sri Lanka in the captaincy of Sourav Ganguly in 2002. The 110 -over final match was played but there was no result.
  • Australia won two consecutive titles in 2006 and 2009 under Ricky Ponting's captaincy. The Australian team defeated the West Indies by 8 wickets in 2006 for the first time. Then in 2009, beat New Zealand by 6 wickets. In both of these matches, Shane Watson was chosen as the Player of the final.
