Shastri said the reason for Kohli's retirement: said- Mentally disturbed by the comment of the people; Could have played 2-3 years

Former Indian coach Ravi Shastri has announced the reason behind Virat Kohli's retirement. According to Shastri, “Kohli was constantly tired of public criticism.” Shastri told the ICC review that he spoke to Kohli before announcing his retirement decision.

The former Indian coach said, 'I talked to him about this. I think his mind was very clear a week before the announcement of his retirement. He has no regrets. Virat surprised me because I thought he had at least two or three years left in Test cricket. When you are mentally tired, your body tells you this. '

Virat Kohli retired from Test cricket on May 12. He wrote in an Insta Post – 'Test Cricket tested me, shaped me, taught me lessons that I will remember for my whole life.' Kohli debuted against the West Indies in 2011.

Regarding Kohli's retirement, Ravi Shastri said-

I was surprised by the decision to retire from Virat Kohli's Test cricket. Because I think Virat still had 2-3 years left to play the test.

4 talk of Ravi Shastri-

  • Kohli was tired of continuous public comments Shastri said, 'You can fit more than half of your team players, but you are tired mentally. So he sends a message to the body. You already know. Kohli suffered a burnout due to constant spotlight. '
  • Kohli has fans around the world, he has inspired people to watch cricket Shastri said, 'Kohli has received praise all over the world. Its fans are more than any other cricketer in the last decade. Even though it is Australia, it is South Africa, they inspired people to watch the game. '
  • If Kohli decides to do something, he gives his own 100% Kohli has given India 40 wins in 68 Tests, which is the highest win by any Indian captain so far. In this regard, Shastri said, “If he decided to do something, he gave 100 percent of her, which is not easy to compete.”
  • Aggression makes Kohli different from other players On Kohli's aggression, Shastri said, 'One player does his own work, then you sit behind and rest. But it is not so with Kohli, when the team is out, it looks like he has to take all the wickets, he has to take all the catches, he has to make all the decisions on the field. So much partnership, I think it will be burned if it does not rest. '

Shastri-Kohli's pair was the most successful Shastri, along with Kohli, made the most successful coach-captain in the history of Indian Test cricket. The pair helped India win the Test series on Australian soil in 2018. Since Se India became the first Asian team to beat Australia in the Test series in its own home.
