Defending champion Australia in the final of the World Test Championship (WTC) has made a strong start to South Africa. On the first day of the match on Wednesday, the team scored 212 in the first innings. Also, 4 South African batters were sent to the pavilion. Mitchell Stark took one wicket, Pat Cummins and Josh Hazelwood one wicket.
South Africa scored 43 for 4 till the stumps at the Lord's Lord's Cricket Stadium. Captain Tamba Bawuma returned an unbeaten by 3 runs and David Bedingham 8 runs. Triston Stubs were dismissed for 2 runs, Vian Mulder 6 runs, Eden Markram zero and Ryan Recalton 16 runs.
South Africa won the toss and decided to bowl. Australia were all out for 212 in the first innings. Bue Webster (72 runs) and Steve Smith (66 runs) from Australia scored half a century. Wicketkeeper Alex Kerry was only able to score 23 runs. Kagiso Rabada took 5 wickets. Marco Yenson got 3 wickets.
