IOC stops the bid process for 2036 Olympics: President said- This is not the right time to choose a host, India made bids 8 months ago

The International Olympic Council (IOC) has stopped the process of bidding for 2036 Olympic games. Due to this, the decision to plan for sports has been postponed by India.

IOC President Christie Coventry said on Thursday, June 26, “All members of the executive board have decided to stop and review the process.” We will form a working group to reconsider it. ' 41 -year -old Christie held the first meeting of the executive board in Louzhen.

On October 1 last year, the Government of India wrote a letter to the IOC and expressed his desire to organize games. A decision on this was expected to come by next year.

The hosts will be bid for 2036, fixed until 2032 Olympic hosts have been decided for 2032. 2032 Olympic Australia's Brisben has been assigned. The 2028 Olympic Los Angeles are scheduled to be held.

Who is Christie Coventry? Christie is the president of the Coventry International Olympic Committee (IOC). He was elected president of IOC on June 23, 2025. She is the first woman and first African to take over this position. He replaced Thomas Bak. His tenure is 8 years old.

Christie Coventry is one of the best backstroke swimmers in the world. He has participated in 5 Olympic Games (2000, 2004, 2008, 2012 and 2016) and won a total of 7 medals.

Coventry is the first woman to become the IOC president.
