Gill's 5 records in Manchester Test: Crit up 4 centuries and equaled Bradman-Gavaskar, also became the first Indian to score 722 runs in the England series

Sunday was a record day for Shubhman Gill and Ravindra Jadeja in the Manchester Test. Gill became the highest scorer in the Test series against England. He also became the first captain to score 4 centuries in the debut Test series.

Gill equaled Sunil Gavaskar and Sir Don Bradman in the highest number of centuries in the Test series as captain. Ravindra Jadeja became the first Indian to score two Test centuries while batting at number six or below in England.

India drawn the fourth test at Old Trafford. The team batted for 143 overs in the second innings. Shubhman Gill, Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar scored a century from India. India scored 358 runs in the first innings and England scored 669. In the second innings, India lost 4 wickets and scored 425 runs.

  • Shubhman Gill became the ninth batsman to score 700+ runs in the Test series as captain. Sir Don Bradman (twice), Sir Garfield Sobers, Greg Chappell, Sunil Gavaskar, David Gover, Graham Guch and Graeme Smith have achieved this.
  • Ravindra Jadeja has scored 50 or more runs in this series so far. This is the highest score of 50+ by a player batting at number 6 or below in the Test series in England. He achieved this by equalizing the record of Sir Gary Sobers in 1966.
  • This century partnership between Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar was India's 10th century partnership in the current four Test matches. This is India's second largest 100+ runs in any Test series. Earlier, India shared an 11 -century partnership in the home series against the West Indies in 1978/79.

Shubhman Gill became the highest scorer in the Test series against England. Gill has scored 722 runs in 8 innings of 4 matches so far during the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy, of which his best score is 269. He has scored four centuries in this series and has an average of 90.25.

Also, Yashwashi Jaiswal scored 712 runs in 9 innings of 5 matches in the Anthony De Mello Trophy during India's tour of England in 2024, with his best score 214*. He scored 2 centuries and 3 Fifty in this series and the average was 89.00. India won this series.

2. First captain to score 4 centuries in the Debut Test Series

4. Gill is the fourth Indian to score 4 centuries

Four players have the record for scoring the highest century in a Test series for India, who have scored four-four centuries in the same series. Sunil Gavaskar achieved the achievement twice, for the first time on a foreign tour against the West Indies in 1971 and the second time playing in India in 1978/79.

After this, Virat Kohli scored four centuries in the 2014-15 Australia series, which was a foreign series. Now Shubhman Gill has also joined this special list. He again recorded this by scoring four centuries in England against England in 2025.

5. Batsman who scored 700 or more runs for India in the Test series

Gill became the fourth batsman to score 700 or more runs in the Test series. Sunil Gavaskar is at the top of the list, scoring 774 runs on a foreign tour against the West Indies in 1971. In addition, he scored this achievement again by scoring 732 runs in the series against the West Indies in 1978/79.

Yashwashi Jaiswal scored 712 runs in the home series against England in 2024. Shubhman Gill has scored 722 runs so far while playing on England's soil against England in 2025, and his series is still ongoing.

6. Jadeja is the third player who scored 1000 runs on foreign pitch and taking 30 wickets

1. Gill got a second life, Pope left the catch

In the 67th over, Indian captain Shubhman Gill was relieved. Gill's catch dropped on the last ball of Ben Stokes over. Gill got another life in the innings.

2. Gill was injured on the ball of Stokes

In 72.1 overs, a short-of-length ball of Ben Stokes suddenly jumped to the side of the helmet after the finger of Captain Shubhman Gill. The ball was so dangerous that he could return to the stump, but Gill immediately became alert and tried to stop it.

After this, Gill immediately removed his helmet and the physio came to the field. Stokes also looked worried and asked about Gill's position. The physio examined Shubhman Gill's hands and head that he had no injury or a light brain blow. 3. Jadeja got a lifetime on the first ball

Before lunch, the Indian team lost its fourth wicket. Gill was dismissed for the fourth ball of the 88th over. He was caught by wicketkeeper Jamie Smith at Jofra Archer's ball.

On the fourth ball of the over, Ravindra Jadeja played a cut shot on the ball outside the stump and scored the 27th fifty of his career. After this, he also celebrated by turning a bat like a trademark sword.

5. Stokes proposed to draw, Jadeja and Sundar refused

Ben Stokes warned of both Indian batsman Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sunder to join hands. But the Indian batsmen rejected their proposal.

Both Jadeja and beautiful are very close to their centuries and they want to complete it. Stokes' faces were clear that he was a little amazed by the decision, but the Indian pair looked firm in his intentions.

Stokes proposed a draw from Sundar and Jadeja but the Indian batsmen denied it.

6. Jadeja's sixth century

In 140.3 overs, Ravindra Jadeja completed his century by scoring sixes. As soon as Brook throws the ball outside the stump, Jadeja used his legs and completed a superb century by hitting a loud shot on Long On. After this, he celebrated one hand and raising the helmet in the other hand and looking at the dressing room.

Ravindra Jadeja scored an unbeaten 107.

7. After the draw Jadeja kissed the pitch

After the match was over, Ravindra Jadeja kissed Old Trafford's pitch. At one time, Captain Shubhman Gill would have lost India after being dismissed, but Jadeja and Washington Sundar scored a brilliant century and drawn the match.
