Five time Grand Slam champion accepts punishment

Five-time Grand Slam champion Iga Swiatek has been suspended for a month for using a banned drug and she has accepted the punishment. Poland’s 23-year-old Swiatek is currently the world’s number two player. She had failed an out-of-competition doping test in August.

Earlier, world number one men’s tennis player Jannik Sinner failed two tests in March due to a steroid. This was before the US Open.
