Aryna Sabalenka has been named the WTA Player of the Year for the first time
Belarusian tennis star Aryna Sabalenka has been named the WTA Player of the Year for the first time. The 26-year-old had a remarkable 2024, winning two Grand Slam titles and becoming the world’s number-one-ranked female player.
Sabalenka’s victories came at the Australian Open in January and the US Open in September. She finished the season with an impressive 56-14 win-loss record and earned nearly $10 million in prize money. In October, she regained the top ranking by surpassing Iga Swiatek.
