Nitish’s father falls at Gavaskar’s feet with tears in his eyes

Nitish’s father Mutyala Reddy meets Sunil Gavaskar

Mutyala Reddy, father of Nitish Reddy, who scored his maiden century in the Melbourne Test, met former cricketer Sunil Gavaskar. Meanwhile, Mutyala saluted Gavaskar on his feet.

Gavaskar made Mutyala stand up and then hugged him. Gavaskar also cried at this emotional moment. He said, “Because of your sacrifice, India got a hero named Nitish Reddy. We know how much you sacrificed. You struggled a lot. Because of you, I am crying. Because of you, India got a hero. Indian cricket A hero has been found.”

Sunil Gavaskar gave a standing ovation

Nitish Reddy made his Test debut in the first match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT). He scored his first career century on the third day of the fourth match in Melbourne on Saturday. After Nitish’s century, Sunil Gavaskar gave him a standing ovation.

Father left his job for Nitish

Mutyala Reddy quit his job at Hindustan Zinc in 2016 to hone his son’s cricketing skills. Nitish also discussed his father’s sacrifice in an interview with BCCI.

Nitish said, “To be honest, I was not very serious about cricket as a child. My father left his job for me. Behind my story there is a lot of sacrifice from my father and family. One day I saw him crying because of lack of money. Then I realized that cricket cannot be played like this for fun.”

“From here I became completely serious about cricket. I worked hard and got results. Now I am proud of myself that my father is happy now.”

Nitish’s father said, “I am really proud. He (Nitish) took my family to this position. He made our family very proud, I thank him for that. I know he is my son. But I Can’t stop thanking him. As a father, my son scored his first century where legendary cricketers like Sunil Gavaskar, VVS Laxman and Ravi Shastri played. My eyes are filled with tears, I pray to God that he scores a similar century in the future.”

Nitish-Sundar helped India to avoid the follow-on

Nitish came to bat after India lost 7 wickets in the first innings on the third day in Melbourne. India’s score at that time was 191 runs. Team India was on the brink of follow-on. Nitish not only scored a century but also reduced Australia’s lead. He shared a 127-run partnership with Washington Sundar.

‘Not fire…wildfire hai.’ This dialogue of Pushpa-2 fits perfectly on Nitish Kumar Reddy, the rising star player of the Indian team. The feat that Nitish has done in front of 80,000+ people, can be done by hardly any player. The 21-year-old has batted calmly and courageously in the T20 era, which has been tremendous. Born on 26th May 2003 in Rogvishakhapatnam, this boy has scored a magnificent century at the historic stadium MCG in Melbourne. He has shamed Team India. Scored his first career century against Australia’s strong bowling line-up in very difficult conditions. He became the third youngest Indian player to complete a Test century in Australia.

India has made a comeback in the fourth Test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy being played in Melbourne. India was in danger of a follow-on on the third day of the match, but Nitish Reddy and Washington Sundar’s partnership saved the team from this danger.
