The British driver is upset by the poor performance of his car and does not hide his desire for the season to end: “I am looking forward to Christmas”.
After eleven years of a relationship between Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes, it seems that the end will not be in keeping with one of the most successful duos in the history of Formula 1 and the sport. The German team and the British driver won six drivers’ and eight constructors’ championships, but will say goodbye after three years without having a car to beat Red Bull.
Furthermore, Hamilton’s confirmed departure to Ferrari at the beginning of the year has forced Mercedes to focus its efforts on the man who will be its main driver for the coming season: George Russell. But even with this, the German team has not been able to get any performance out of its car.
Hamilton’s frustration after the Brazilian Grand Prix, where he finished 10th, was evident: “ The car has been bad all weekend. It doesn’t feel good. It’s devastating to have these bad races in the second half of the season . But all I can say is that we are trying,” he lamented.
And his Mercedes has not been up to par with expectations and has not even come close to the Red Bulls throughout the season: “ The car is not good enough. I have to take responsibility too, but I am just a driver, I am doing the best with what I have . For some reason the car has been the worst this weekend, and I don’t know why. We will have to find out what it is,” explained the seven-time world champion.

The outrage is such that even the Briton had a bit of humour when asked how to improve the car: “ If you can find the answer, I’ll give you a million dollars . I’m concentrating on something else now. I’m not fighting for the championship, so it doesn’t really matter where we finish in the championship.”
But with no answers, Hamilton confirmed his true desire: “If they give me a car that doesn’t bounce off the track in the next few races, then I hope we can get some better results. But, yes, I’m looking forward to Christmas ,” said Hamilton, who will be wearing the red of Ferrari from 2025 .
