100th match of Surya for Mumbai, Special Jersey found: Hardik becomes the first captain to take 5 wickets in IPL, Tilak Verma retired; Match Moments

Lucknow Supergiants (LSG) beat Mumbai Indians (MI) by 12 runs on Friday. LSG lost 8 wickets at Eka Stadium and scored 203 runs. In reply, MI's Suryakumar Yadav scored 67 but could not lead the team to victory. Mumbai scored 191 runs after losing 5 wickets.

Suryakumar was given a special jersey for playing his 100th match for Mumbai. Corbin Bosh caught a diving catch to dismiss Rishabh Pant. Tilak Verma retired. Hardik Pandya became the first captain to take 5 wickets in the IPL.

1. Surya played his 100th match for Mumbai

Suryakumar Yadav with a special jersey of the 100th match. It is written in the sun.

Suryakumar Yadav played his 100th match for Mumbai Indians. He was given a special jersey for this achievement. The number 100 is written on the back of this jerseys. Surya has scored 3158 runs in 100 matches for MI so far.

Former Mumbai player Kiron Pollard gave a jersey gift to Suryakumar Yadav.

2. Marsh relieved, Mumbai Indians did not appeal

Mitchell Marsh relieved 4 runs.

Mitchell Marsh got a living on the fourth ball of the first over. Trent Bolt threw full length ball on the front foot. Marsh drives and the ball reaches wicketkeeper Ryan Recalton from the edge of his bat. But he or other team players did not appeal and Marsh got relief for 4 runs.

3. Corbin Bosch's diving catch

Corbin Bosh caught a diving catch to dismiss Rishabh Pant.

Lucknow captain Rishabh Pant was out in the 11th over. Hardik Pandya threw the fourth ball of the short of length over. Rishabh played a shot on the leg side. The ball passes through the edge of the bat and reaches the Corbin Bosch on the mid-off. Here he ran forward, dive and caught the catch.

Rishabh Pant was able to score only 2 off 6 balls.

4. Akashdeep missed Tilak's catch

Akashdeep gave his life to Tilak Verma by scoring 3 runs.

Akashdeep Tilak Varma missed the catch in the 16th over. Tilak played a big shot on the second ball of Ravi Bishnoi's over. The ball went to Akashdeep standing in the direction of the cover. He ran forward and dive, but the ball knocked his hand and fell to the ground.

5. Tilak Verma Retired Out

Tilak Verma retired on the last ball of the 19th over. Tilak Pavilion returned after taking a single on Shardul Thakur's Yorker ball. Instead, Mitchell Sentner came to bat.

  • Mitchell Marsh became the highest ball player in the power play of the IPL match. He faced 30 balls.
  • Lucknow Super Giants scored the second highest powerplay score in Lucknow. The team scored 69 runs in the first 6 overs without losing any wickets. Earlier in 2024, Kolkata lost 70 runs against Lucknow.
  • Rohit Sharma could not play the match due to injury. Prior to this, Rohit Sharma did not play for CSK in Dubai in 2021 due to injury.
  • Michelle Marsh became the second batsman of Lucknow to hit Fifty in Powerplay. Kyle Mayors have done this twice the first. Marsh played 61 off 31 balls yesterday.

  • Mitchell Sentner gave up 46 runs in his 4 overs yesterday. This is the most expensive bowling figures ever in his IPL career. This season, he took only one wicket in 12.3 overs and gave a run at an economy rate of 8.96.
  • Hardik Pandya became the first captain to take 5 wickets in IPL history. He took 5 wickets for 35 runs yesterday. This is also his best bowling exhibition in T20 cricket. In the first 2023, he took 4 wickets for 16 runs against New Zealand in Ahmedabad.
  • Mumbai Indians' bowlers have won both exhibitions for taking five wickets against Lucknow in the IPL. Akash Madhwal took the first five wickets in the 2023 eliminator match and the second wicket was taken by Hardik Pandya today.

Hardik took 5 wickets for 35 runs.

  • Hardik Pandya completed 30 wickets as captain in the IPL. Shane Warne is the first on the list. He has taken 57 wickets.
  • This was the second occasion to have a total score of more than 200 at Lucknow's stadium. In 2024, KKR scored 235/6 against LSG and Lucknow scored 203/8 yesterday.
