Africa squad announced for Champions Trophy: Nortje-Ngidi returns to squad; 10 out of 15 players member of 2023 ODI World Cup

Fast bowlers Enrich Nortje and Lungi Ngidi have been named in South Africa's ODI squad for the 2025 Champions Trophy after missing the domestic international season due to injury. Nortje is out with a leg injury, while Ngidi is also injured. Nortje played his last international match on 29 June in a T-20 match against India. Ngidi played his last international match on 7 October in an ODI match against Ireland.

10 players who have played in the 2023 World Cup The 15-man squad is led by Temba Bavuma and includes 10 players who were members of the squad that reached the semi-finals at the 2023 World Cup in India. Viaan Mulder, Tony De Jorzi and Ryan Rickleton will play their first senior ICC event. South Africa's group league match against Pakistan South Africa are in Group B of the Champions Trophy and will open their campaign against Afghanistan on February 21 in Karachi. They will then play Australia in Rawalpindi on February 25 and their final group match against England on March 1. This match will be played in Karachi.
