Andhra Cricket Association to give ₹25 lakh to Nitish

Nitish Reddy plays domestic cricket for Andhra Pradesh

The Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) will award a cash prize of Rs 25 lakh to Nitish Reddy, who made India’s comeback by scoring a century in the Melbourne Test. On Saturday, Nitish scored the first century of his career. He scored 114 runs.

ACA president Kasineni Shivanath said, ‘This is a happy moment for the Andhra Cricket Association. Andhra’s Nitish has been doing well for India in Tests and T20s. As an honour, Nitish is being given a prize money of Rs 25 lakh.’

Nitish added 127 runs for the eighth wicket with all-rounder Washington Sundar.

“One of the greatest innings in history”-Gavaskar

With the help of 21-year-old Reddy’s century, India scored 358 runs for the loss of 9 wickets on the third day. Reddy, who performed well throughout the series, also played a brilliant innings in the fourth Test. His innings has been described by former cricketer Sunil Gavaskar as one of the greatest Test innings in India’s Test history.

Scored a century in difficult circumstances

Nitish led Team India out of a difficult situation on the third day of the Melbourne Test and scored his first century (114 runs) of his international career. When Nitish came to bat, the team had 6 wickets in the first innings. Nitish shared a 127-run partnership with all-rounder Washington Sundar.

Scored most runs for India in the series

Nitish made his debut in the first Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Nitish scored the highest 41 runs in the first innings of the Perth Test. In the second innings too, he played a quick unbeaten innings of 38 runs. He scored 42-42 in both innings of the Adelaide Test. Nitish has scored 284 runs in 6 innings of this series and is the highest run scorer for India in the series.
