Australian Open: Medvedev breaks net camera with his racket: Angry at his mistake in match; Bopanna's pair out

In the first round of the Australian Open, Russian star tennis player Daniil Medvedev broke the net camera with his racket in anger. Meanwhile, his racket also broke.

He faces Thailand's Kasidit Samraj in the first round at the Rod Laver Arena on Tuesday. Three-time Grand Slam finalist Medvedev trailed 1-2 against Samarez, who is ranked 418th in the world. After one mistake he could not control himself and broke the camera with the racket. Then after the match he said – I can't control myself from making such mistakes in the match.

However, fifth seed Medvedev won the five-set match 6-2, 4-6, 3-6, 6-1, 6-2. This was the first Grand Slam match for Thailand's Summers, who entered the tournament as a wild card.

Medvedev hit the net in anger and even broke his racket.

I want summers to play like this in every match Medvedev said in his on-court interview, “I watched Samarez's match, but I didn't see this kind of performance, so I was surprised.” If he plays like this in every match he can do well. I want Samarez to play like this in every match if I am facing him. To be successful in tennis you have to perform consistently and I wish the same for him.

Rohan Bopanna's pair out Former world number 1 and India's legendary tennis star Rohan Bopanna and his Colombian partner Nicolas Barrientos were knocked out in the men's doubles first round of the Australian Open on Tuesday. The Indo-Colombian players lost 5-7, 6-7 (5) to the Spanish pair of Pedro Martinez and Jaime Munar in a match that lasted one hour and 54 minutes.
