Boxing from the 2028 Olympics: 100% voting in the IOC meeting; There was a plan to remove it in 2023

Boxing will not be removed from the Los Angeles Olympic Games of 2028. The International Olympic Committee (IOC) included it at the LA Games on Thursday. In this regard, IOC voted between members and 100 votes in favor of keeping boxing at the Olympic Games.

When IOC President Thomas Bak asked to raise his hand to include boxing at the Los Angeles Games, all members agreed. No member was absent in the poll. No one voted against him.

It is also important to live in the LA Olympics for boxing because India expects the highest medal from boxers and wrestlers. Indian boxers have a good record in the Olympic Games.

IOC President Bak said-

We can expect a wonderful boxing tournament. The Olympic program is rarely agreed to include a game.

IOC said last year-

In order to include boxing at the Olympic 2028 game program, the National Boxing Federation will have to unanimously consciously on the new International Federation.

  • IOC recognized World Boxing last month. There are now membership of more than 80 national organizations in the new boxing organization. World Boxing is being created in April 2023. So there is a game at the Boxing Olympics.
  • IOC has stopped the inclusion of boxing at the Los Angeles Olympic Games game program in 2023. The committee also canceled the validity of the IBA (International Boxing Association) in 2019 due to financial and administrative problems.
  • In February 2022, boxing was not included in the 2028 Olympic initial program. The boxing tournament at the Tokyo and the Paris Olympic Games was inspected by the IOC's Special Task Force.

India became a member of World Boxing last year India won world boxing membership before the Paris Olympic Games. The International Olympic Committee (IOC) then warned. IOC said that if the Indian Federation is associated with the International Boxing Association (IBA), the game could be removed from the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
