South Africa's all -rounder Corbin Bosh has decided to leave the Pakistan Super League to play the Indian Premier League (IPL). It has been included in the Mumbai Indians team for this season.
The unhappy Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has sent a legal notice to Bosch's decision. Corbin is accused of violating the rules of the contract. PCB has asked Corbin to respond to his decision.
PCB angry players are afraid of going to IPL
- According to Pakistani media reports, the Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchises fear that more foreign players can leave PSL.
- Franchisees believe that if the PCB does not take any legal action against Bosch or does not take strict action, more players can sign to PSL in the future and if they have a chance they can select IPL.
- The reason is that IPL is the world's largest cricket league. Every player wants to play in it. In this, you get more money than PSL.
- When a player is injured, players who are not sold at the auction are included in the IPL franchise. Players are also prioritizing the IPL.
- Recently, former Pakistani cricketer Imam ul Haq said the boards of all countries should stop their players from playing in the IPL. It should not be allowed to play in the IPL because BCCI does not allow its players to play in other leagues.
Mumbai Indians contracted with Corbin Bosch on March 8 instead of injured Lizard Williams. After which Corbin Bosh decided to withdraw from the PSL. PSL and IPL will be played together. The IPL will run from March 22 to May 25, while PSL is scheduled to play from April 11 to May 18. Corbin Bosch was selected in the Diamond category by Peshawar Zalmi at a PSL draft held in January.
Corbin Bosch has played three international matches. He made a one -day debut against Pakistan in December last year. He also made a test debut against Pakistan in December.
League like Bosch SA20 and CPL also played
- Bosch has experience playing in a league like SA20 and CPL. He has played 14 matches for 3 teams in SA20. In addition to taking 3 wickets, he has also scored at a strike rate of 78.94.
- CPL has 19 matches with 2 teams. In this, he has taken 9 wickets in addition to scoring 5 runs at a strike rate of 115.88.
- Bosch was contracted by Rajasthan Royals in 2022 in place of Nathan Coolter. However, he did not get a chance to play in a single match.
PCB modified the dates of PSL season
- Earlier PSL was played in February-March. The PCB extends the PSL window to March-April so that more foreign players are available and contracted on them.
- There are also leagues like SA20, ILT20 and BPL in January-February. In this case, PSL had to compete with this league. Many foreign players gave less importance to the PSL because they were busy with this league.
- The PSL draft was held after the IPL Mega Auction, so that the availability of foreign players is more clarified. For this season, the IPL auction was held in November 2024 and the PSL draft was held in January 2025.
