Defamation case- Dhoni's petition will be heard: Madras High Court order, Mahi claims Rs 100 crore against media house

The Madras High Court has ordered a hearing of former Indian captain MS Dhoni's Rs 100 crore defamation case. Dhoni's statement will be recorded by the Advocate Commissioner, so that the crowd and chaos can be avoided.

Dhoni filed the case in 2014, demanding losses from two major media channels. It was alleged that the 2013 IPL betting scandal made defamed comments against him during a TV debate.

Appointment of Advocate Commissioner Justice CV Karthikeyan has appointed an Advocate Commissioner who will note the evidence and statements on behalf of Dhoni. Dhoni said in the affidavit that he would comply with the court and the commissioner's directives and wanted the trial to be delayed.

The spot fixing happened in 2013 Spot fixing was done in IPL 2013. In the police investigation, big names like BCCI's former President N Srinivasan's son -in -law, Team Chennai Super Kings chief Gurunath Mayappan and Shilpa Shetty's husband Raj Kundra were accused.

Three players from Rajasthan Royals, S.K. Sreesanth, Ankit Chavan and Ajit Chandila were arrested. Questions began to raise on both teams. The Supreme Court formed a Lodha Committee to investigate this hyperfile case. In 2015, on the recommendation of the committee, a 2 -year ban was imposed on both teams.

Retired from international cricket in 2020 Dhoni is currently retiring from international cricket and plays for CSK in IPL. Dhoni entered international cricket in 2004. As captain in 2007, India won the T20 World Cup, 2011, the ODI World Cup, and the Champions Trophy in 2013 in 2020.

He has captained 158 matches. Dhoni made CSK the last champion in his captaincy in 2023. Dhoni has won the team in 136 matches in his captaincy, while the team lost in 97 matches.
