Dhoni said – If you play good cricket then what is the need for PR?

Former Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni believes that if you play good cricket, you do not need much publicity. Your priority should always be the game and the team.

In an interview given to Eurogrip Tyres, Dhoni talked about the increasing use of social media and maintaining distance from it. The former captain told that in the initial phase of his career, his manager used to advise him to use social media as much as possible, but he never paid any attention to it.

“Social media was not that effective when I started playing”

Former captain Dhoni said, when I started playing cricket in 2004, social media was not so effective. Later platforms like Twitter and Instagram came. All my managers said that I should use social media, connect with fans and strengthen my public relations.

Well, Dhoni does not agree with these things of his managers. He believes that if he performs well then he will not need any public relations (PR).

It is better to stay away from social media

The former captain of Chennai Super Kings also enumerated the benefits of staying away from social media. He said, it is good to stay away from social media, keeping distance from it keeps their life stress free.

Dhoni said, what to post on social media, what not to do, it becomes a big challenge. I always thought that if something is really important, I will post it. I have never been interested in wondering who has how many followers.

The only captain in the world who has all three ICC trophies

Dhoni has captained India in 60 test matches. In which they won 27, lost 18 and drew 15 with a winning percentage of 45%. He is one of the most successful captains of India. He took India to the number one ranking.

Dhoni remains the only captain in the ICC Test rankings and in history to have won all three ICC limited overs titles. T20 World Cup in 2007, ODI World Cup in 2011, and Champions Trophy in 2013. Dhoni gave credit for his success in life to his parents and close friends.

Will play for CSK as an uncapped player

MS Dhoni has been included in the team of Chennai Super Kings for IPL-2025 at a price of Rs 4 crore. He will play for Chennai as an uncapped player. He has played 264 matches in 17 seasons of IPL. During this period, he has scored 5243 runs at an average of 39.13 and strike-rate of 137.54. Which includes 24 half-century innings.
