Dulip Trophy- East Zone 230 Allout: Akib took 4 wickets off 4 balls, North Zone got a 175-run lead

Akib Nabi is the fourth bowler to take 4 wickets in 4 balls in first class cricket. Earlier, Shankar Saini for Delhi, Mohammed Mudasir for Jammu and Kashmir and Kulwant Khajarolia for Madhya Pradesh have achieved this feat.

In the Duleep Trophy quarter -finals, North Zone bowler Akib Nabi has achieved 4 wickets for 4 consecutive balls. Due to his brilliant bowling, the rival East Zone team was all out for 230 runs. In this way, the North Zone has got a 175 -run lead based on the first innings. North Zon scored 405 in his first innings.

Akib took a total of 5 wickets. Virat Singh scored 69 from the East Zone. In the first innings, Kanhaiya Wadhwan (76) and Ayush Badoni (63) scored half a century in the first innings.

First bowler to take 4 wickets in 4 balls in the Nabi Dulip Trophy Akib Nabi became the first bowler to take 4 wickets in 4 balls in the tournament. Akib, a resident of Baramulla in Jammu and Kashmir, took three wickets in the last three balls of the 53rd over. He caught Suraj Jaiswal for 10 runs by wicketkeeper Kanhaiya Wadhwan. Then he made Manishe LBW out on Zero and bowled clean without opening an account to Mukhtar Hussain. He took Mohammad Shami out on the first ball of the 57th over and took the fourth wicket.

Earlier, at the beginning of the innings, Akib dismissed Virat Singh, who was well settled in 69 runs. Nabi threw 10.1 overs in the first innings, kept an over -maid and took 5 wickets for 28 runs. He is the third bowler to take a hat -trick in the Duleep Trophy after Kapil Dev and Sairaj Bahutule.

From the North Zone Ayush Badoni and Wadhwa Fifty hit On the first day, East Zone selected bowling at the Center of Excellence Ground-1. Suraj Sindhu Jaiswal took 2 wickets. Mohammad Shami and Mukhtar Hussain took 1-1 wickets. Mukesh Kumar could not take any wickets.

South-West Zone will play directly in the semifinals This year, the Duleep Trophy will be played in the zone format. Last time it was played between four teams (A, B, C, D). A total of 5 matches will be played in this tournament. There will be 2 quarter finals, 2 semifinals and 1 final. All matches will be knockout, meaning that the losing team will be out. Last time (2023-24) South Zone won the title, beating the West Zone by 75 runs in the final. For this reason, this time the South Zone and West Zone will play directly from the semifinals.

West Zone won the most ie 19 titles The most successful team in the history of the Duleep Trophy has been the West Zone, who has won the title 19 times so far. Then comes the North Zone, which has won the title 18 times, while South Zone has won the trophy 13 times. Central Zone has won the title 6 times and East Zone 2 times. The Duleep Trophy began in 1961-62.
