Gujarat defeated Saurashtra and entered the Ranji semifinal: one innings beat by 98 runs; Saurashtra giants Better Sheldon Jackson retires from domestic cricket

In the quarter-finals of the Ranji Trophy 2024-25, Gujarat has made an entry in the semifinals by beating Saurashtra by one innings and 98 runs. Now, with the end of the trip to Saurashtra, Sheldon Jackson, the domestic cricket legend, has retired.

Gujarat won the toss and decided to bowl first. Saurashtra's team was all out for 216 runs due to the coolest bowling of Chintan Gaja. In reply, Gujarat scored 511 runs with the help of Urville Patel's 140 and Jayamit Patel's 103. Saurashtra's team was all out for 197 in the second innings. Priyjit Singh Jadeja took 4 wickets and Arjun Nagwaswala took 3 wickets.

Cheteshwar Pujara's average performance in Ranji season This Ranji season was not good for Cheteshwar Pujara. He was able to score only 1 century and 1 half a century. However, he converted that century in a double century and played 234 runs. He scored 402 runs at an average of 40.20 in 10 innings of 7 matches. He could not cross the two -digit figures in 5 innings. He could not open his account in any of these innings. He scored 16,0,134,2,3,14,6,99,26 and 2.

Sheldon Jackson retired Saurashtra's legendary Better Sheldon Jackson has retired from domestic cricket. He scored 334 runs at an average of 30.36 in 11 innings of 8 matches. He scored 2 half centuries. Saurashtra captain Jaydev Undakat gave Jackson a jersey signed by the players and wrote an emotional post on it. Jacks, one of Saurashtra's most successful batters, scored more than 7200 runs in a career of about 15 years. His highest score was 186 runs. He scored 39 fifty and 21 centuries.
