Last year also India defeated Pakistan in the final. At one time both the teams were tied at 3-3, but in the fourth and final quarter Hundal scored two consecutive goals and made India the winner. Apart from Hundal, Dilraj Singh scored a goal for India in the 19th minute. For Pakistan Sufiyan Khan scored two goals on penalty corner in the 30th and 39th minute and Hannan Shahid scored one goal in the third minute.

The first quarter was very exciting. Pakistan took the lead over India right from the beginning. Hannan Shahid scored a field goal in the third minute, but a minute later India got its first penalty corner, which Hundal converted into a goal, giving India a draw. The second quarter went in India’s favour. India got another penalty corner in the 18th minute, on which Hundal scored a goal, giving India a 2-1 lead. Hundal’s two goals in the fourth quarter brought victory
After the interval, Pakistan started attacking one after the other. They got the result in the form of a penalty corner in the 39th minute. Sufiyan’s drag flick was accurate here as well. His goal brought the match to a 3-3 draw. In the fourth quarter, it was the turn of the Indian team to counterattack. India got its third penalty corner in the 47th minute, but Hundal’s drag flick was saved well by the Pakistani goalkeeper Mohammad Janjua. A few seconds later, Hundal scored a goal on a cross from the left side, giving India a 4-3 lead. In the last 10 minutes, India attacked continuously. The team also got penalty corners. Hundal scored another goal, ensuring India’s 5-3 victory.
