India has maintained its strong position on the third day of the Birmingham Test. Team India scored only 407 runs in reply to 587 runs. India got a 180 -run lead in the first innings. From here, the team scored 64 for 1 in the first innings.
On the third day, England lost 5 wickets for just 88 runs. From here, Jamie Smith scored 184 and Harry Brook 158. The two shared 303 runs for the team. Mohammad Siraj took 6 wickets and Akashdeep 4 wickets from India.
Brooke-Smith strengthened England
Harry Brook scored his first Test century against India.
On the third day, England started playing with a score of 77/3. Mohammad Siraj sent Joe Root and Ben Stokes a pavilion in a single over. Root scored 22 runs, could not even open a stock account. Then Brook and Smith shared 303 runs. Brook was dismissed for 158, while Smith scored 184 runs. In front of them, the team was all out for 407 runs.
In the second innings, India scored 64 for 1 wicket by the end of the day's game. The team is ahead of 244 runs. KL Rahul will continue his innings with a score of 28 runs on the fourth day and Karun Nair 7 runs. LBW was out on the ball of Josh Tung after Yashwashi Jaiswal scored 28 runs.
