India will host the Fide Chess World Cup 2025: Tournament will run from October 30 to November 27; 206 players will participate

India is the host of the International Chess Federation (FIDE) World Cup 2025. It will be organized from October 30 to November 27.

According to the Fide World Cup website, players of this tournament will fight for 2026 Fide candidates to qualify for the tournament and win the title.

The tournament will be played in a knockout format, in which the player losing in each round will be out. A total of 206 players will participate in this thrilling competition.

From this tournament, the top three players will qualify directly for the 2026 candidate tournament, which will determine the challenger for the World Chess Championship.
