Indian squad to be announced tomorrow for Champions Trophy: Shami comeback possible; Surya-Shardul may be out; Tournament from 19th February

The Indian squad for the Champions Trophy will be announced on Saturday, January 18. Chief selector Ajit Agarkar and captain Rohit Sharma will hold a press conference at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai at 12:30 pm. This information is provided by BCCI.

Mohammad Shami may return to the team. Surya-Shardul may be out. The Champions Trophy is scheduled to be held from February 19 to March 9 across 4 venues in Pakistan and UAE. It includes Lahore, Karachi, Rawalpindi and Dubai. All the matches of the Indian team will be played in Dubai.

ODI World Cup 11 players selected It is certain that the players who will play the 2023 ODI Cup will be selected. Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan, Shardul Thakur and Ravichandran Ashwin may be out of the squad. Ashwin has retired, while Shardul has not been selected in the squad since Gautam Gambhir became the coach. On the other hand, Surya and Ishaan have been stripped of their cards from the ODI squad due to poor form and behaviour. In such a situation, the team management has to find the place of these players.

It is being said that BCCI is waiting for fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah's fitness report. According to reports, Bumrah will not be able to play the group stage. Mohammad Shami has recovered from injury. He can get a place in the team. He has not played an international match for 14 months, while Kuldeep Yadav also underwent surgery recently.
