Indian Women clean sweep West Indies: Team wins 3rd ODI by 5 wickets

The Indian team wins the series 3-0

The Indian women’s cricket team defeated the West Indies by 5 wickets in the third and final ODI. With this, the team captured the series 3-0. The Indian team won the first match by 211 runs and the second match by 115 runs. Renuka Singh Thakur, who took 10 wickets in 3 ODIs, was the player of the series.

Batting first in the match played at the Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara, the West Indies team was all out for 162 runs in 38.5 overs. In reply, India chased down the target by losing 5 wickets in 28.2 overs. Deepti Sharma gave an all round performance. He scored 39 not out and took 6 wickets. He was selected player of the match.

Henry’s half century, Deepti took 6 wickets

West Indies won the toss and scored 162 runs in 38.5 overs. Renuka Singh dismissed both the openers in the very first over of the match. Kenna Joseph and Hayley Mathews were out without opening the account. Shinel Henry scored the highest 61 runs for the team. Shamain Campbell scored 46 runs. Deepti Sharma took 6 wickets from India. Renuka Singh took 4 wickets.

Deepti scored an unbeaten 39 runs

Chasing the target, India lost 3 wickets on the score of 55 runs. Smriti Mandhana 4, Harleen Deol 1 and Pratika Rawal scored 18 runs. From here, captain Harmanpreet Kaur scored 32 runs and Jemimah Rodrigues scored 29 runs. While Deepti scored 39 runs in 48 balls and Richa Ghosh scored 23 unbeaten runs in 11 balls.

India won the second ODI by 115 runs

Indian Women defeated West Indies by 115 runs in the second ODI. After winning the toss, the Indian team came to bat and equaled their highest score. India scored 358 runs for the loss of 5 wickets at the Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara. In reply, the West Indies team was all out for 243 runs in 46.2 overs.

India won the T20 series 2-1

The two teams also played 3 T-20 series before the ODIs. India won the first and third T20, while West Indies won the second T20. Smriti Mandhana scored fifties in all three matches from India.
