IPL schedule public, opening match between RCB-KKR on March 22: 74 matches in 65 days, 12 double header; Final at Eden Gardens; Full schedule

The 18th season schedule of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has been announced. Broadcaster Star Sports announced a schedule at 5:30 pm. The L -classico between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will be played in Chennai on March 23 at 7.30pm. Both teams will clash again in Mumbai on April 20.

The opening match will be played on March 22 between the defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in Kolkata. This time 74 matches will be played in 65 days. The 70 league stage match will be played by May 18, including 12 double headers. That is, 2 matches will be played 12 times in 1 day. The final will be held in Kolkata on May 25.

Playoffs will be played in Hyderabad and Kolkata There has been a tradition in the IPL that the tournament and the final match are played on the home ground of the defending champion team. This time both of these matches will be played at the Eden Gardens Stadium in Kolkata. The final will be held on May 25, Qualifier-2 will also be played in Kolkata on May 23.

Last season's runner-up team will also be held at Sunrisers Hyderabad's Home Ground Rajiv Gandhi Stadium. The Qualifier will be played here on May 20 and the Eliminator will be played on May 21. In the 2024 final, KKR won the IPL for the third time by beating SRH by 8 wickets.

The first IPL match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bengaluru will be held on March 22.

The first double header on March 23 The first double header of the 18th season will be held on March 23 on the second day of the tournament. SRH and RR will collide at 3.30 pm in Hyderabad. The match between Mumbai and Chenna will be played at 7:30 pm. After this, there will be a double header on March 30.

Two matches will be played a day on 5, 6, 12, 13, 19, 20 and 27. Double headers will be played on May 4, 11 and 18. All double headers will only be on Saturday or Sunday.

10 teams will play in 13 places In addition to the 10 team home grounds, matches will also be played in Guwahati, Visakhapatnam and Dharamshala. Guwahati is the second home ground of Rajasthan Royals (RR), the team will play 2 matches here. The team will clash here on March 26 against Kolkata and Chennai on March 30. Dharamsala is the second home ground of Punjab Kings (PBKs). The team will play 3 matches here.

Visakhapatnam is the second home ground of Delhi Capitals (DC). The team will play 2 matches here. The rest of the 10 teams are Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Lucknow, Mullanpur, Delhi, Jaipur, Kolkata and Hyderabad. The rest of the season's match will be played here. A total of 74 matches will be played between 10 teams in the tournament.
