Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) President A. Jagan Mohan Rao has been arrested in the IPL 2025 ticket scam. Four senior officers were also detained by the Telangana Crime Investigation Department (CID) on Wednesday.
Other arrested officers include HCA treasurer C Srinivas Rao, CEO Sunil Kant, General Secretary Rajendra Yadav and Rao's wife G. Poetry is included. All of them are accused of blackmailing Sunrisers Hyderabad for a ticket. According to the BCCI rules, any team's home state stadium gets 10% free pass of the stadium capacity.

When did this matter begin? Telangana Cricket Association (TCA) general secretary Dharma Gurav Reddy filed a complaint on June 9. Serious allegations were made against the HCA, such as fake, manipulation and pressure. Based on the complaint, the CID has registered a case under several sections of IPC, including 465 (fake), 468 (fraud), 471 (used as fake documents), 403 (occupation of wealth), 409 (breach of trust) and 420 (fraud). It is alleged that Rao submitted fake documents to participate in the election.
Push for tickets over SRH HCA is accused of seeking more free passes than the IPL franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). According to the agreement between SRH, HCA and BCCI, HCA should get only 3,900 free tickets (10%of the stadium capacity). But HCA officials sought 10% additional tickets, which SRH refused.
In IPL 2025, the HCA was pushing for a free ticket on the Hyderabad franchise.
The corporate box locked and asked for tickets SRH also alleged that on March 27, a few hours before the match against the Lucknow Supergiants, the HCA president locked the corporate box and demanded 20 additional tickets. This was a violation of the agreement.
SRH had warned to change the state The situation became so bad that SRH complained to the IPL Governing Council and BCCI and said that if the pressure tricks were not stopped, they could move their home match to another state.
Still only 3,900 tickets will be available To reduce stress, HCA Secretary R. Devraj held a meeting with the SRH team manager. It was decided that the HCA would get 3,900 free pass as before. SRH and HCA said in a joint statement that they would now work professionally together so that viewers have a good experience.
