Zaheer Khan of the IPL team Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) can leave the team before the 2026 season. According to the Times of India, LSG's new mentor will be given a major role in overseeing other franchises of RP-Sanjeev Goenka (RPSG) group. Zaheer Khan was added to the squad after the departure of Gautam Gambhir in 2023.

Sanjeev will appoint a cricket director for the group LSG owner Sanjeev Goenka, who is currently in England for The Hundred League, will soon announce the cricket director. This person will oversee LSG's other franchise, Durban Super Giants of the South Africa (SA20) League and Manchester Originals.

Sanjeev Goenka has bought a team of Manchester Originals in The Hundred League.

Zaheer joined Lucknow after IPL 2023 Zaheer Khan took the role of mentor in place of Gautam Gambhir, who left the post after IPL 2023. Along with this, he was also taking over the responsibility of the bowling coach after the departure of Morne Morkel. Morkel left the position to work with India's men's cricket team and Gambhir.

Zaheer was associated with Mumbai Indians (MI) from 2018 to 2022. He was the first cricket director, then came in the role of Global Development Head.

LSG appointed Bharat Arun as a new bowling coach 14 days ago, LSG appointed Bharat Arun as a new bowling coach. According to the source, Arun's role is also big, he has been entrusted with the additional responsibility of finding and preparing young fast bowlers for Durban Super Giants and Manchester Originals from next year.
