Mohammed Shami to Lead Bengal’s Bowling Attack in Vijay Hazare Trophy

Indian star fast bowler Mohammed Shami is set to represent Bengal in the upcoming Vijay Hazare Trophy. Shami, known for his lethal bowling, will strengthen Bengal’s squad alongside Mukesh Kumar, forming a formidable pace attack.

Fans had been wondering when Shami would rejoin Team India, with speculation that he might be included in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia. However, his selection for the Vijay Hazare Trophy confirms that he will not be joining the national team for now.

Shami, who has been training at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru, is fully fit and ready to deliver for Bengal. The team, coached by Laxmi Ratan Shukla, will begin its campaign on December 21 with a match against Delhi in Hyderabad. The squad will soon depart from Kolkata to prepare for the tournament.

Shami has already made his mark in domestic cricket this season, playing for Bengal in the Ranji Trophy and the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. His presence in the Vijay Hazare squad is expected to further boost Bengal’s chances of lifting the trophy.

The Bengal team will be captained by Sudip Kumar Gharami, and with Shami’s inclusion, they are aiming for a strong performance in the tournament.
