After the Champions Trophy, Afghan spinner AM Ghazaffar has also been dropped from IPL 2025. The team has incorporated Afghanistan off-spinner Mujib-ur-Rehman instead of Gazanfar.
Mumbai has joined 24 -year -old Mujib for Rs 2 crore. The team bought 19 -year -old Ghazaffar in the mega auction for Rs 4.80 crore. At that time Muju was unsold. According to reports, the current IPL season is starting on March 22. The opening match will be played between Kolkata and Bengaluru.
The first match of IPL 2025 will be played on March 22 between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Kolkata Knight Riders.
Mujib has been unsold for the last 4 years Mujib-ur-Rehman has not received any buyer for the last four years. He was not even included in any team in the mega auction in November last year. Mujib has been part of IPL from 2018 to 2021. He has played three seasons for Punjab Kings (PBKs) in IPL and one season for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). He is 19 wickets fast in 19 IPL matches.
In 2018, Mujib took 14 wickets in 11 matches for Punjab. In 2021, he got only one match from Hyderabad. He took two wickets for 29 runs.
Mujib took 14 wickets in SA20 Mujib is coming after playing the South African League SA20. He took 14 wickets with an economy of just 6.77 in 12 matches for Parl Royals. He is the top-2 bowler of the tournament. Mujib played his last international match against Zimbabwe in December 2024.
