Match Analysis in 5 points …

1. The Match of Player

Mumbai won the toss and chose the first bowling and 2 wickets in 7 balls. Ajinkya Rahane and Angkrish Raghuvanshi are set. Ashwini Kumar sent Rahane a pavilion on the ball just before the fourth over. He then took the big wickets of Rinku Singh, Manish Pandey and Andre Russell. With his performance, KKR's batsmen came back on the backfoot.

Ashwini said after the match

I'm happy, at the beginning was pressure, but the team made me feel very good. I had just ate a banana before the match. There was pressure but I didn't feel much hungry. Captain Hardik told me to enjoy the debut. He advised me to bowl the body line short pitch, which worked for me. All the people in my village will be watching the match. Everyone was waiting for my debut. By the grace of God, I got a chance today.

2. The hero of victory

  • Trent Bolt: Bolt came to bowl with the new ball and in the first over, Sunil Narayan was bowled out. He spent only 23 runs in 4 overs.
  • Deepak Chahar: Chahar came to put his second over and caught D Coke on the first ball. He then sent Venkatesh Iyer a pavilion.
  • Ryan Recalton: Chasing a 117 -run target, MI opener Recelton made the match unilateral. He scored half a century and was unbeaten, leading to the team victory.

3. Fighter of the Match

Angkrish Raghuvanshi, who was batting at No. 4 from Kolkata and Ramanandeep Singh, who was batting on No. 9, showed a fight. Both were the top scorer of the team. Raghuvanshi scored 26 off 16 balls. Ramandeep was out for 3 off 5 balls. In the bowlers, only Andre Russell was able to show the fight, he took both wickets for the team.

4. Turning points

KKR lost the toss and came to bat first but lost 5 wickets in just 50 runs. The top 5 batsmen returned to the pavilion, from here the team could not recover. Raghuvanshi and Ramanandeep showed the fight, but the team was all out in the 17th over.

5. Who said?

Kolkata captain Ajinkya Rahane said

The whole team batted badly. The pitch was good, he wanted to be 180-190rons. After this match we have to learn quickly. There was nothing to do with bowling. We scored less runs. There was a problem with constant wickets. Losing 4 wickets in Powerplay is not a good start. Partnership is very important in between, but not a single end of our batter could survive.

Mumbai captain Hardik Pandya said

I'm happy to win at home. I am more than happy to see this match the way we win. We like to support players. There was more help on the field. Ashwini bowled brilliantly. Team scouts work very well. He chooses these young players who play well for us. It was clear in the practice match that he had the ability to swing late. He was a good way to take Russell's wicket. He also took a wonderful catch of Quinton.
