India's star Javelin Thrower Neeraj Chopra won the tournament called 'Neeraj Chopra Classic' on Saturday. Neeraj threw 86.18 m javelin with his home viewers at Shri Kantirawa Stadium in Bengaluru and took first place. Neeraj Chopra, 27, was participating in a world class event for the first time in his country. World Athletics has given this tournament a 'A' category.
After winning the title, Neeraj said- I am not happy with this distance. I expected good results. It was difficult for me mentally because I knew that people were expecting my win. I was forced to perform well in front of home viewers.

What is Neeraj Chopra classic? Neeraj Chopra is a classic one -day Continental Tour Meeting which has received gold status from World Athletics. It is the first track and field meeting to be held in India. In addition to the World and Continental Championship and Diamond League meeting worldwide, there is a category of Continental Tour events that are divided into various categories such as A (Gold), B (Silver), C (Bronze) and Challenger events. With gold status, Neeraj Chopra is considered to be the largest event after the Diamond League.
Neeraj scored 90 meters in the Doha Diamond League. Neeraj Chopra won the Paris Diamond League (88.16 m) and Austrava Golden Spike (85.29 m) in June. Neeraj crossed the 90 -meter figure for the first time in his career in the Doha Diamond League this year. It is the second best throw (90.23 m) of the season. This season only Julian webre of Germany throws more than 91.06 meters in Doha.
How did the Neeraj classic begin? After winning the Olympics, Neeraj Chopra said that India should also have a world -class athletics event. The event was attended by 12 top international and Indian Javelin Throe.
