Nepal's T20 World Cup Qualifier will practice in India before 2025. The Nepalese team will participate in practice sessions at the BCCI's Center of Excellence in Bengaluru from August 20 to September 4. The initiative is being taken in collaboration with the Government of India, which aims to connect the youth of India and Nepal through cricket.
Qualifier will be held in Oman The T20 World Cup Qualifier will be played in Oman from October 8 to 17. The main tournament will be held in India and Sri Lanka.
India had earlier given the Nepal team a chance to train at the Center of Excellence in August last year. Along with this, Nepal also played a triangular practice tournament against the Baroda and Gujarat Cricket Association team in June last year.
Rohit Poudel is the captain of Nepal.
Cricket means the means of connecting the youth of both countries “Cricket cooperation has given a new energy to the historical and deep relations between India and Nepal. Cricket has become a common means of connecting the youth of both countries,” a government official told the news agency.
Foreign Minister Dr. S. Jayashankar met Nepal cricket team In January 2024, India's Foreign Minister Dr. S. Jayashankar met representatives of Nepal's Men's Team and the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) to express India's support for the development of cricket in Nepal.
The Government of India also supported the practice match between Nepal and DDCA (Delhi District Cricket Association) to be held in Nepal in March 2024.
The women's team also participated in the training camp The Nepal women's cricket team participated in a training camp in Delhi in April-May 2024 to prepare for the Asia Cup Qualifier (Thailand, May 2024) and reached the final of the qualifier.
In July 2025, the Indian Embassy (Kathmandu) facilitated the training of 3 under-19 players of Nepal for a month in Bhopal.
Nepal's women's cricket team has also trained in India.
