Rohit said- I am not retiring from ODIs: what is going on will continue; Virat said- am happy that the team is in safe hands

Team India captain Rohit Sharma is not retiring from ODIs. In a conversation with the media after winning the Champions Trophy on Sunday, he made it clear that he would continue to play in the future.

Team India beat New Zealand by 4 wickets in the final of the Champions Trophy. Asked about retirement after the match, Rohit said there was no future plan; What is going on will continue. He said I was not going to retire from this format.

Under Rohit's captaincy, India won the T20 World Cup-2024 title last year. After this, Rohit's captaincy won the Champions Trophy-2025 title. Rohit has also equaled Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Dhoni has become the second Indian captain to win more than one ICC trophy.

Rohit scored 76 in the final In this match, Rohit played 76 runs and was selected as Player of the Match. Talking about his innings, Rohit said that he changed his game and adopted an aggressive style, which is not his natural style.

I wanted to bat this way. When you do something different, you need the support of team management. I first spoke to Rahul Bhai (Rahul Dravid, former Indian coach) and then with Goti Bhai. I have been playing in a different style for the past few years. We are now getting results.

Virat said- the team in safe hands Virat said after the match that when he and other big players leave the team, he would be convinced that the Indian team was in safe hands. He said that it was very nice, we wanted to comeback after a trip to Australia. It was great to play with young people. They are moving and moving India in the right direction. Many boys have played such impressive innings and bowled so well, it is a collective effort that made this victory possible for us.

I try to talk to these people, try to share my experiences, tell them how I have played for so long. When we leave cricket, you want to get in better position. Gill, Shreyas, Rahul have all played very impressive innings. The team is in good hands.
