Rohit Sharma Expresses Disappointment After India’s Loss in Adelaide

Captain Rohit Sharma is not at all happy with this kind of defeat

India’s captain, Rohit Sharma, was visibly upset following his team’s 10-wicket loss to Australia in the second Test match of the series in Adelaide. The match, which ended in just two and a half days, has left Sharma reflecting on the reasons behind the defeat.

Speaking after the match, Rohit said, “It has been a disappointing week for us. We didn’t play well, and Australia outperformed us. We failed to capitalize on key opportunities. What we achieved in Perth was special, but every Test brings its own challenges. Playing with the pink ball is always tough. We are now focused on the next match at the Gabba.”

Looking ahead to the third Test, Rohit added, “Gabba holds good memories for us. We want to start well there and learn from our mistakes. It’s about understanding the challenges and performing better.”

Pat Cummins Praises Starc and Head

Australia’s captain, Pat Cummins, celebrated his team’s strong comeback, which leveled the five-match series at 1-1. After India’s commanding win in Perth, Australia bounced back decisively in Adelaide.

Cummins lauded Mitchell Starc’s match-winning performance. Starc claimed six wickets for 48 runs in India’s first innings, putting the visitors under pressure. “Starc is incredible. He’s been delivering outstanding performances for over a decade,” Cummins said.

He also highlighted Travis Head’s game-changing century. Head smashed 140 runs off 141 balls in the first innings, striking 17 fours and 4 sixes. His aggressive batting gave Australia a 157-run lead, a turning point in the match. “Head’s innings was crucial,” Cummins noted. “When he came in, the match could have gone either way. His knock ensured we took control.”

The series now moves to Brisbane, where both teams will aim to take the lead in this thrilling contest.
