BCCI is going to give Sachin Tendulkar a lifetime award. Tendulkar will be given the award at the BCCI main office on Saturday, February 1, at an annual ceremony. An official of the board has confirmed this to PTI. He said: Yes, he (Sachin Tendulkar) will be given the CK Naidu Lifetime Achievement Award. Tendulkar will be the 31st cricketer to receive this award.
51 -year -old Tendulkar has played 664 international matches for India. He has the highest score of Test and ODIs. Tendulkar has scored 15,921 runs in 200 Tests, while 18,426 runs in 463 ODIs. Sachin has also played a T20 international match. Earlier in 2023, the award was given to former Indian team head coach Ravi Shastri.
Why will Tendulkar get the award? Considered as the great batter of the era, Tendulkar was known for easily scoring in all situations. He entered Test cricket against Pakistan at the age of 16 in 1989 and scored against bowlers around the world in the next 20 years. He also has a record of scoring 100 centuries in Test and ODIs. Tendulkar was the main member of the 2011 World Cup winner of India. This was his record sixth and last World Cup.
The last time Shastri-Engineer received the award was given by Colonel CK Naidu Lifetime Achievement Award to India's World Champion team members Ravi Shastri and Farooq Engineer in 1983. Farooq played 46 Tests and five ODIs for India.

The award began 31 years ago The BCCI launched the award in 1994 in honor of India's first captain Colonel CK Naidu. Naidu's first series career was 47 years old from 1916 to 1963. This is a world record. Naidu also served as an administrator.
