Samson retired Hart due to injury: 5 catches in Delhi-Rajasthan match; Nair run out of Sandeep's throw

Delhi Capital defeated Rajasthan Royals in the first super over of IPL-18. Rajasthan scored 11 runs first. KL Rahul and Triston Stubs from Delhi scored 13 off 4 balls against Sandeep Sharma.

Earlier, Delhi had scored 188 runs at Arun Jaitley Stadium, losing 5 wickets. In reply, Rajasthan's team was able to score only 188 runs by losing 4 wickets. Nitish Rana and Yashwashi Jaiswal scored a fifty.

Interesting moments were seen on Wednesday. Nitish Rana's catch was released from Triston Stubs. Karun Nair was out of Sandeep Sharma's throw. Sanju Samson retired after being injured. Mohit Sharma left Jaiswal's catch on the boundary. Ashutosh gave life to Samson.

1. Nair Sandeep run out

Sandeep Sharma dismissed Karun for zero.

Sandeep Sharma runs Karun Nair in the third over and gave Rajasthan a second wicket. On the first ball of the over, Sandeep took a round the wicket and threw a length ball towards off stump, which Porel tried to pull, but the inside edge fell on his thigh and went to the point.

Karun died for the first run but Porel refused to strike end. Karun Nair had reached half the crease. Sandeep grabbed the ball and threw it on a non-striker end. Here Nair was out on a zero score. He scored 89 runs in the last match.

The compassionate dive would have survived the run out.

2. Porel's bat took the edge, did not appeal to Rajasthan

Porel played 49 runs.

Abhishek Porel was dismissed for 49. On the last ball of the 13th over, Archer threw a short ball who was heading to the off stump.   • This is the fourth time in the history of IPL when a bowler threw 11 balls in one over. Sandeep Sharma achieved the feat in the 20th over against Delhi Capitals in Delhi yesterday. This unwanted record first made Mohammad Siraj in 2023 against the Mumbai Indians in Bengaluru in the 19th over. After this, Tushar Deshpande threw 11 balls in the fourth over against Lucknow Super Giants in Chennai that same year. This year, Shardul Thakur threw the 13th over of 11 balls against Kolkata Knight Riders in Kolkata.
