In reply, on Monday, the Sri Lankan team was restricted to 141 runs in 19.1 overs. The team lost the last 5 wickets for 6 runs. Kusal Perera scored the highest score of 48 runs. Jacob Duffy from New Zealand took 4 wickets for 15 runs. The team has taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series.

Duffy used a brilliant yorker to dismiss Perera in the 16th over when Sri Lanka were 127-4. After this, he dismissed Wanindu Hasaranga (1) and Mahish Teekshana (0) in the 18th over in the space of three balls. Apart from Duffy, Matt Henry and Mitchell Santner took 2-2 wickets.
