Sri Lanka beat Bangladesh by one innings and 78 runs in the second Test. With this, the Sri Lankan team won the two-match Test series 1-0. The first match of the series was a draw.
On the fourth day of the Colombo Test, Sri Lanka made Bangladesh all out for 133 runs in the second inning with the help of spinner Prabhat Jayasuriya. Bangladesh scored 247 runs in the first innings. Shadman Islam scored the highest 46 from the team.
Sri Lanka scored 458 runs in the first innings due to the century of Pathum Nisanka. Based on the first innings of Bangladesh, the team got a 211 -run lead. Nisanka was declared Player of the Match for 158 runs.
Prabhat Jayasuriya was 5 wickets for 56 in 18 overs.
The last 5 wickets fell in 33 runs Bangladesh's score was 115 for 6 on the third day, but on the fourth day, in half an hour, Bangladesh lost the remaining 4 wickets. The team lost the last 5 wickets for just 33 runs. Sri Lankan spinner Prabhat Jayasuriya took the highest 5 wickets. Apart from that, Dhananjay D Silva and Thrindu Ratnayak got 2-2 wickets. Asita Fernando took a wicket.
Anamul Haq, who started the second innings for Bangladesh, was sent back to the pavilion with Asita Fernando scoring 19 runs in the last over the third day. Anamul hit 2 fours and 1 six. He added 31 runs for the first wicket with Shadman Islam.
Shadman Islam (12 runs), Mominul Haq (15 runs) and Mushfikur Rahim (26) were dismissed. None of the team's batters could survive on the pitch for a long time.
