Sri Lanka beat Bangladesh by an innings and 78 runs: Pathum Nisanka scored 158 runs; Prabhat Jayasuriya took 5 wickets

Sri Lanka beat Bangladesh by one innings and 78 runs in the second Test. With this, the Sri Lankan team won the two-match Test series 1-0. The first match of the series was a draw.

On the fourth day of the Colombo Test, Sri Lanka made Bangladesh all out for 133 runs in the second inning with the help of spinner Prabhat Jayasuriya. Bangladesh scored 247 runs in the first innings. Shadman Islam scored the highest 46 from the team.

Sri Lanka scored 458 runs in the first innings due to the century of Pathum Nisanka. Based on the first innings of Bangladesh, the team got a 211 -run lead. Nisanka was declared Player of the Match for 158 runs.

Prabhat Jayasuriya was 5 wickets for 56 in 18 overs.

The last 5 wickets fell in 33 runs Bangladesh's score was 115 for 6 on the third day, but on the fourth day, in half an hour, Bangladesh lost the remaining 4 wickets. The team lost the last 5 wickets for just 33 runs. Sri Lankan spinner Prabhat Jayasuriya took the highest 5 wickets. Apart from that, Dhananjay D Silva and Thrindu Ratnayak got 2-2 wickets. Asita Fernando took a wicket.

Anamul Haq, who started the second innings for Bangladesh, was sent back to the pavilion with Asita Fernando scoring 19 runs in the last over the third day. Anamul hit 2 fours and 1 six. He added 31 runs for the first wicket with Shadman Islam.

Shadman Islam (12 runs), Mominul Haq (15 runs) and Mushfikur Rahim (26) were dismissed. None of the team's batters could survive on the pitch for a long time. Captain Najmul Hussein Shanta was taken to the wicket de Silva for 19. Before the third day's game began, Mehdi Hassan Miraz was bowled out in the bowling of Thrindu Ratnayke for 11 runs.

Openers' 50+ run participation

In the first session of the second day, Bangladesh was all -out for 247 runs, the Sri Lankan team started a strong start. Pathum Nisanka and Lahiru liberal pair shared 50+ runs. The team's score here was 83/0.

Taizul Islam broke the partnership of Sri Lankan openers. He made a LBW out to Lahiru liberally on a 40 -run score. Nisanka and liberal added 88 for the first wicket.

The third century of Nisanka, a 194 -run partnership with Chandimal After losing the first wicket for 88 runs, Pathum Nisanka partnered with Dinesh Chandimal and put the Sri Lankan team in a strong position. He scored 194 off 311 balls with Chandimal. Chandimal was out with 93 runs. After Chandimal, Kusal Mendis played 84 runs fast. He was caught out by Litton Das at the ball of Naim Hassan. Nisanka was out for 158 runs. Taizul Islam was dismissed.
