Former Indian wicketkeeper Farooq Engineer and West Indies great captain Clive Lloyd will now stand on the historic Old Trafford grounds of England. The honor will give him his former county team Lancashire.
According to sources, the stand-named ceremony can be held on the first day of the fourth Test match between India and England starting on July 23. England are currently 2-1 in the five-match series.
An England cricket official said: “This is a perfect and respectful step for both giants.”
Farooq played 175 matches for Lancashire
- Farooq engineer played 175 matches for Lancashire from 1968 to 1976, with 5942 runs, 429 catches and 35 stumping.
- Before his arrival, Lancashire did not win any major title in 15 years, but under his leadership the team won the Gillet Cup four times between 1970 and 1975.
- Two -time World Cup winner captain Clive Lloyd spent almost two decades with Lancashire and revolutionized the team's game. He joined the club as a foreign player in the 1970s.

Farooq lives in Manchester The 87 -year -old Farooq Engineer has made Manchester a permanent residence. “Old Trafford was a wonderful place, people used to come to see us from far away,” he told the club's website in an old interview.
He added, “From the dressing room we could see the Warwick Road Railway Station, and before the match the crowds descended from trains roaring with excited sounds and laughter. Our lockers were full of autographs and party invitations.”
Names like Clive Lloyd, Harry Peeling, Peter Lever and Ken Shuttleworth were very discussed.

No honor was found at Brabourne Stadium Interestingly, Brabourne Stadium, where Farooq engineer played most cricket in India, has no stand in his name. Former India captain Dilip Wangsarkar may attend the ceremony at a private visit to Manchester. Senior club officials will also be present.
