Sydney Test: Jasprit Bumrah goes for scan: Side strain complaint, Kohli to captain this match

Indian captain Jasprit Bumrah walked off the field on the second day of the Sydney Test on Saturday. It has been taken for scanning. According to media reports, he complained of a side strain. Virat Kohli took over the captaincy in Bumrah’s absence. However, he returned to the stadium later in the day.

Bumrah bowled an over after lunch the next day. He then felt a bit uncomfortable and walked off the field after talking to Kohli. The broadcaster then showed him leaving the stadium with team security liaison officer Anshuman Upadhyay and the team doctor.

Bumrah was doing the captaincy in place of Rohit Sharma Jasprit Bumrah was captaining India in the Sydney Test. On the first day of the Test, Bumrah arrived for India’s toss wearing a blazer. Captain Rohit Sharma ruled himself out, not playing the fifth Test. Shubman Gill has got a chance to replace him.

Bumrah took the highest wicket in the series with 32 Bumrah has so far bowled 152 overs in 5 matches of this series. During this time he took 32 wickets. Bumrah has taken 2 wickets by giving 33 runs in 10 overs in this match. He is the highest wicket-taker in the series.

India: Jasprit Bumrah (captain), Yashaswi Jaiswal, KL Rahul, Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant (wicketkeeper), Ravindra Jadeja, Nitish Reddy, Washington Sundar, Mohammad Siraj and the famous Krishna.

Australia: Pat Cummins (captain), Usman Khawaja, Sam Constance, Marnus Labuschagne, Steve Smith, Travis Head, Beau Webster, Alex Carey (wicketkeeper), Mitchell Starc, Nathan Lyon and Scott Boland.

Rohit Sharma is not playing in the fifth Test between India and Australia in Sydney. When Rohit was not in the playing XI, many questions were raised. Speaking to broadcaster Star Sports on Saturday, Rohit said, ‘I have not retired.’

Rohit said, ‘He dropped himself due to bad form in the Sydney Test. It was a difficult decision to take, but it was in the best interest of the team. Who stays in the team or not is our decision, no one else can decide.
