What is an anti -national doping bill? The anti -national doping bill, 2025 is a law that has been brought to India to create an anti -doping system in accordance with international standards. Its main purpose is to ensure that India's National Doping Agency (NADA) operates completely independently and that the government has no direct intervention.
Why was it brought?
- The anti -national doping law passed in 2022, but WADA (anti -doping agency) objected to it.
- WADA objected to the fact that the National Board for Anti-Doping in Sports formed in India had the power to monitor and directed the NADA, which it considered “government intervention”.
- If Wada's rules were not followed, India could face a ban in international sports competitions.
What changes will happen in 2025?
- The board (National Board for Anti-Doping) will exist, but it will no longer have any monitoring or directive on the NADA.
- NADA has been given functional independence.
- This means that doping -related decisions will only be taken by NADA experts and officials, not by the government or a political designated person.
What will be the benefit?
- India's anti -doping system will be in accordance with WADA rules.
- Players will get fair investigation and trial in the case of doping.
- India's credibility in international sports will remain intact and there will be no fear of any restriction or suspension.
