This has paved the way for local tournaments and selection of the national team for international tournaments. Until now, the Sports Authority of India and Adhoc Committee have been on administrative responsibilities.
The ministry has announced in the year 2023 in a hurry to the Under-15 (U-15) and Under-20 National Championships.
WFI was banned on December 24 In fact, after becoming the president of the WFI on December 21, 2023, Sanjay Singh announced the organizing the National Junior Championship in the field of former President Bridge Bhushan Sharan Singh. After which the Sports Ministry banned WFI on December 24.
In January 2023, female wrestlers demonstrated a dharna on Jantar Mantar against Bridge Bhushan Singh On January 16, 2023, the Olympic Medal winning witness woman, Vinesh Fogat and many female wrestlers launched a dharna on Jantar Mantar, who was accused of sexual harassment on the then WFI President Bridge Bhushan Singh Sharan. Olympic medalist Bajrang Poonia also joined the protest in support. At that time, after the Sports Ministry's consolation, the wrestlers ended the strike and protested again in April.
On April 21, women wrestlers lodged a complaint against former President Bridge Bhushan On April 21, 2023, letters with 6 people names addressed Sho, Connaught Place, New Delhi. The names of many well -known wrestling players were included in these 6 names. All these complainants at that time accused WFI President Brijbhushan Sharan Singh and his secretary Vinod Tomar of sexual harassment.
In these complaint letters, the mention of sexual exploitation on different occasions during the last 8 to 9 years was written. In addition, the complainant wrestlers also said that they had complained to the youth and sports ministry. A surveillance committee was also constituted to investigate this. A petition was also filed in the Supreme Court to register an FIR in this case.
