The world's No.1 tennis player accepts a 3-month ban: Genic Sinner failed in the dope test, won the Australian Open last month

Genic Siner, the world's number-1 tennis player, has accepted the 3-month ban. WADA issued a statement on Saturday and said – 'Sinner has admitted his mistake. Therefore, it has been banned for 3 months. '

The 23-year-old Sinner failed in both tests of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), but was not banned by the International Tennis Federation. In this case, WADA filed an appeal in the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) against Sinner, which was scheduled to be heard in April 2025.

Prior to the hearing, an agreement was signed between Wada and Sinner for a 3 -month ban. The ban will be in effect from February 9, which will be until May 4, 2025. The Italian star will be seen playing at the French Open starting on May 25.

In the doping case, Siner said-

The case was pending for over a year and the process was so long that the decision was coming at the end of the year. I have always acknowledged that I am responsible for my team and I believe that strict rules of Wada are required for the safety of the game. That is why I accepted the WADA's three -month ban to resolve the matter.

Sinner Failed in the doping test, but it was not banned This case is 2024. Sinner failed the WADA doping test during a tournament, but the International Tennis Integrity Agency did not ban Sinner. Wada appealed to the CAS against this.

In March last year, traces of a banned anabolic steroid claestball were found in Sinner's body. Sinner then said, “While massaging from the trainer, these elements entered his body because he used this substance after the finger.”
